Willie Green

Apr 20, 2013 8:00pm - 11:00pm

The Arts Garage would like to invite you to join them for an evening with Bluesman Willie Green taught himself how to play the harmonica and the guitar, and 70 years later, he’s still wailing on both. Born in the early 1930s in Montgomery, Alabama, his first exposure to blues was when he would hitchhike into town and witness blues greats tearing up local juke joints. He has opened for legends like John Hammond, Jr., Tommy Castro, and Eric Clapton. He was recognized for his contribution to blues by the Florida State Museum of history and heritage along with Bo Diddly and Ray Charles. Now, Willie graces the Arts Garage stage, captivating audiences with his rollicking melodies and heart-gripping beats.

Tickets are $25-35, $5 more at the door
